What's New
at
Windswept Farms
May 2008
The grass is finally starting to grow in the pastures here at Windswept Farms. Ewes and lambs are heading out to the "big field" to graze in the late morning and early evening, but they still return to the barn area for the night.
Lambs are growing and thriving. The lambs "race" and play "king of the mountain" constantly! We hope to start making lamb evaluations very soon and begin the training of the show lambs. Lambs should be ready to go to new homes in early June.
We have one group of 8 ewes spending a few weeks with Red Ram Billy Joel, in the hopes of producing some outstanding fall lambs later this year. Ultrasounds will be performed in early July to confirm pregnancies....
Fleeces are now completely skirted, graded, photographed, and up on the website! This year the fleeces on the website have been organized by color for easier viewing. Check out our fleece pages!
